Pair of Kings

St. Andrews Bay, Antarctica

King and Emperor penguins are often confused with one another. By people not penguins. Although very similar, Kings and Emperors almost never inter-breed and are rarely even seen together. These two King Penguins seem intrigued with the tall guy in a red coat on their beach. This was a rare shot of just two penguins together. There were about half-a-million of them standing around this day. Photo © copyright by Craig Kerr.
