The Maiden

Switzerland

One of the main summits of the Bernese Alps, the Jungfrau, or "maiden", is one of three peaks (joined by the Eiger and Mönch) along a 10 mile mountain wall overlooking the Bernese Oberland and Swiss Plateau and is one of the most distinctive sights of the Swiss Alps. This image from the summit of the Jungfrau overlooks the Aletsch Glacier; Europe's highest. Photo © copyright by Craig Kerr.
