The Whaler's Church

Grytviken, South Georgia Island, Antarctica

The "Whalers' Church" is one of seven churches on the Antarctic continent. Built by whalers in 1913 it is the only building in Grytviken, South Georgia Island that has retained its purpose since the whaling station's abandonment in 1966. Photo © copyright by Craig Kerr.
